The city of Santa Cruz in Chile is located in Colchagua valley, famous for its wines. Here too there are three distinct soil formations, and they include more than 170 series, each with special characteristics, that means wide possibilities to produce wines with their own character. Colchagua valley was recognized in 2005 as the best valley for wine production in Wine Spectator magazine. Of note is the fact that Colchagua Museum, one of the most complete museums of South America is located here as well as the capsule that rescued the Chilean miners in 2010. After the visit to the museum, you will drive to Neyen winery located in Apalta valley. Here, planted in 1890 are the oldest carmenere and cabernet sauvignon grapes which were imported from France before the philoxera. They produce wines of excellent quality. This tour is a perfect combination between the traditional and the modern. For lunch time is suggested a restaurant where Malbec points out that Viu Manent, a winery founded in 1935, has a reputation for consistency in its wines. Departure: 8:00 am.
